PostSubject: play ps2 iso from internal/external usb hard drive with Ethernet cable windows 10 x64   Wed Feb 21, 2018 12:47 am

Hi,I love emulation but nothing beat the original hardware,I bring back my old dusty ps2 from closet and decide to play some ps2 hidden gems, today i want to share with you how I do it

pc I use laptop which has Ethernet adapter
ethernet cable to to directly connect ps2 with my laptop you can connect your ps2 with your router
hdd space to store ps2 iso I use external hdd formatted ntfs, yes you don't need fat32
ps2 memory card with FMCB ,uLaunchELF installed
if you have win10 you need to make sure you have older SMB 1.0/ CIFS File Sharing activated pls follow this link http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=4926

create folder and name it as you like mine called PS2SMB (upper case letters)
inside this folder create another one called DVD and other one called CD again all capital letters you can use opl manager https://oplmanager.no-ip.info/site/ it's easy to use and will help you install additional art and automatically create folders for you,it also support vmc virtual memory card which is cool
put your ps2 iso inside, you should name the iso correctly ex: SLUS_205.00.Red Dead Revolver.iso you can use https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/ search for the game then click on summary tab,be careful when naming the iso file with under score and dots as above example

now we need to share the folder PS2SMB,right click go to sharing tab share then everyone add read write permission click share now go to advance sharing check share this folder click on permission check full control ,change and read
we need to configure our pc ip and sharing setting in windows go to control panel network and internet network and sharing center change adapter setting right click on ethernet adapter intenet protocol v4 click properties you should get this result

click ok
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings
turn on every sharing option,in all network make sure you check use 128bit encryption
and turn off password protection

download opl daily or stable version http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3
install opl in you memory card use usb stick and uLaunchELF and copy opl folder to your memory card you can follow this link for more information
Boot the OPNPS2LD.ELF from any homebrew ELF Launching app like Free McBoot or uLaunchELF.you can also set opl up so it shows as one of your apps on your PS2 browser,
more information http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36
go to setting and make sure you follow this image below

usb device start mode=off
hdd device start mode=off
eth device start mode=auto
ps2 logo=off
now press ok and go to network config

I set Ethernet link mode to auto and i found best result doing so
ip address type =static
ip address=
Dns server

Address type NETBIOS (this the the only way I can get my ps2 to work in win 10 x64 pro,in older windows you can set static value)
addres (put your pc name here and make sure your pc name is upper case letter with no spaces)
Share PS2SMB (all upper case the name of our ps2 folder which containe DVD with iso files inside)
user GUEST (upper case)
click on recconect if every thing is ok press o and go back to game list in opl go to ethernet and you should get your games showed up

Thank you for reading and enjoy
